So to update you all, having the grandma's here was a great time! We went to see a lot of the things that I have yet to see here in Seattle also. We did lots around Bellevue and also went into Seattle and out on Snoqualmie Pass. I think we all really enjoyed the visit out here and hope that everyone will come and visit us sometime! Jay and I are looking forward to his parents coming to visit next month sometime! :)

I took the grandma's to the Space Needle, Pike's Market, and downtown Seattle on the Friday they were here. It was such a nice day out, sun was shining, and the birds were chirping! We were totally exhausted at the end of the day that we came back and had egg sandwiches for dinner and I fell asleep at SEVEN PM! The next day we headed out to Snoqualmie Falls, what a gorgeous place to visit. I decided that when we were looking out from our seats at lunch and saw people climbing around on the rocks at the bottom....if my husband was here we would have been down there (even in the very chilly weather)...not sure I would have been keen on it but he is always up for an adventure! We had a wonderful lunch there and I had Halibut Tacos...YUMMY. While there we got a lovely surprise and my cousin Robbie who is in the ARMY at his basic training in Fort Benning, GA called my grandma's cell phone! It was such an awesome surprise! He called to wish her a happy birthday...it was very sweet.

Oh! I forgot to mention that we also went to the Wineries up in Woodinville. We went up there the first day that they got here for Grandma Lavonne's birthday. It was such a fun afternoon and really pretty to take a drive up there, reminded us of heading from San Fran to Napa Valley area. On their last full day here we went to the Shops at Bravern, new shopping center outdoors here in Bellevue. Lots of high end fun stores such as Louis Vuitton, Nieman Marcus, Hermes, Sur La Table, and TROPHY CUPCAKES! We got 4 cupcakes and they were all very very very good! All in all it was a LOVELY time! :)

The job hunt is going well and I have a phone interview tomorrow with Target AGAIN! I am getting really antsy to get to work and not be super bored anymore! The interviews with the 5 other Target people went really well and I can't complain too much that the interview process has taken a long time because they want me to fill a great position! I really hope that it goes well tomorrow! :)

Jay has been really busy at Target and with EBC. There are a few kids who are now wanting to specifically work with him one on one, which is super news! (this equals more hours = more money) The kids seem to be working hard and learning a lot! There have been some other offers also to help with high school teams and other middle school teams, hopefully one that will work out nicely!

This is about it for now, we are very happy about any guests that want to come and visit! Come anytime!

New Month, New Things

Jay and I are excited for another new month here in Seattle and for more fun things to come! Jay is working a lot, both basketball and his other job at Target. We are both happy that he is so busy and bringing in some money while I continue the job search! The search is going pretty well and I have another interview on Tuesday for a leadership position at another Target...in Issaquah, Jay is in Redmond. It seems to be going well for Jay and he is working a bunch, even late tonight until 11 pm. I am excited with the opportunity to get back to work, most of all to be busy again!

I am not sure if I mentioned this before but BOTH of my grandma's are coming to visit starting next Wednesday. I could not be more excited about this! The day that they arrive, its my Grandma Montavon's 67th birthday! I think it will be a great way to celebrate your birthday, in Seattle! Hopefully she can trust to leave Spanky IN CHARGE of Grandpa for a long weekend! haha! It will also be a good opportunity for me to do a few more "tourist" things around the city that I have yet to do. Maybe some wine tasting, movies, space needle, pike's market, downtown seattle, and a little shopping!

Yesterday we took a mini-road trip to Kent and went to a pumpkin patch! We had a great time and got totally lost in the first maze and were not sure if we were going to make it out! After about 10 min of being lost, we found the exit and retraced our steps to find all the checkpoints again. It was actually quite fun! We sped through the second one because we actually knew how to read the map. haha! We ended up buying some sweet corn and having it with dinner, it was DELICIOUS!

Today Jay and I FINALLY hung a few more pictures....each month I get to hang a couple more things....by the time the lease is up we will have everything hung! We still have yet to find the right piece of "art" for the living room. Jay claims that he will know it when he finds it, and that he is a "minimalist"....not really sure I believe any of that! Oh well, it makes me laugh!

Happy Salmon Days in Issaquah this weekend, maybe we will check it out tomorrow! :)

Updates.

Hey Everyone!

Things are going well here in Bellevue. Jay and I are enjoying our time here and it has been quite nice out and only recently became more Fall like weather...which we don't mind too much as it is Fall after all. Jay's work at the Training Facility and helping with a couple of basketball teams in the Bellevue area is going just GREAT! Lots of teams seem to be very interested in Jay doing some coaching for them and lots of training to be had, as the basketball season approaches quickly.

Last weekend we took our first "Road Trip" since we moved here, down to Eugene, OR. We had a wonderful time for Matt and Patty Short's wedding, Matt was a teammate of Jay's at the U of O. The weekend was absolutely lovely! We first started the weekend out with a U of O Volleyball game...which was awesome to see them play U of Washington (just around the corner of our house)! Although they lost, it was really fun to watch because the team is VERY good. Ending the evening with some lovely sushi from the Sushi Station in Eugene....HIGHLY recommend!

The next morning we got up and had some quick breakfast and off to Autzen Stadium for the big game, U of O versus Cal! It was beautiful day and Jay and I forgot to wear sunscreen....it is now Wednesday evening and we are still looking a little on the pink-side. The Ducks totally owned the football game and I was finally able to see Autzen full of crazy football fans! What a great facility! That evening Jay and I headed up to "Sweet Cheeks" Winery just outside of Eugene for the Rehearsal for the wedding. We were a little early and we decided to do a wine tasting....GREAT idea and the wine was very good. We bought a bottle of the Rosey Cheeks!

Sunday morning breakfast at the Lucky Noodle, YUM! We spent a beautiful day at the vineyard preparing for the gorgeous evening wedding looking out on the hills/mountains of Oregon. I had a lovely chat and tea with a great lady named Lisa Johnson, check out her business Reach Group Consulting. She has also written multiple books and a well known speaker. What an amazing woman to visit with, inspiring to say the least. Lisa's husband was also part of the wedding party and this was how we became friends on Saturday. The wedding was beautiful and so were the Bride and Groom, it was really beautiful weekend.

Seattle!

Well, we have made the move!  Jay and I just moved to Bellevue, Washington...just outside of downtown Seattle.  So far we have had a wonderful time here and things are going great!  Both of us are enjoying very much our time together in our "First Place".  I have really enjoyed making meals in our home and turning into a real Betty Crocker.  I have made something home made every night here.  I have also baked muffins, candied almonds, made spicy almonds, belgian waffles, new egg recipe, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and MUCH more to come!
We have had the time to visit some local things upon our arrival.  We went down to Pike Market with my mom while she was here.  Tailgated at a Seahawks game, saw my parents friends from Vancouver, had some Sushi, walked the trails by our apartment, went into downtown Bellevue, and a Farmers Market at Juanita Beach.
Jay has started at a training facility helping coach and train young basketball players and will start another job this Wednesday!  We are getting excited to be busy and make money to have more fun around the city.  I have a second interview tomorrow and am really hoping that I get the position as it sounds like a great opportunity!
We will keep you all updated on what else is going on as more excitement occurs! :)

Almost 3 months until the BIG DAY!

Now that Jay and I have been home for a while I forgot that I really should be still writing in the blog, as we still do not see all of our friends and family on a regular basis. As most of you already know we are getting married in about 3 short months, and can't wait! Our lives since we have returned have been full of planning and preparation!
Jay and I are both getting very excited for the big day and for lots of our family and friends to get together!

Since we have been home, we have been lucky enough to have great family to help us out with living situations and also with all of our plans....we are not sure how we can thank them all enough! (Other than potentially move somewhere where it is warm for them to all visit us!) BUSY BUSY we have been. Jay is now coaching and training young kids at a basketball development school in Bloomington, MN. His team has another big tourney this weekend in MPLS, so it will be exciting! Last weekend Jay and his cousin and a few friends went to LAS VEGAS for his bachelor party and had a great time, sounds like the weather was good and they did not lose a lot of money!

As for me, busy planning...making all sorts of things for the big day, cooking classes, helping out family by house sitting...dog sitting....cat sitting....and NOW the most FUN, I am hanging out with Miss Addison Anderson, Jay's niece!
